I will never understand why guys need books like this to date us women. We are not actually from another planet, although some books suggest we are. We think a little differently from men, because we have to, but we are not really all that hard to understand, or so I thought.
In this book, Williams approaches the area of dating etiquette with a friendly, light touch. He manages to relay some good advice to guys about the do's and don'ts of dating, and seems to understand the way we women think. Kudos to him for taking the time to try and get more men to understand the importance of good communication skills in a relationship. Honestly, guys, that is like, more than half the battle won if you can just communicate to us gals clearly and honestly, not tell us what you think we want to hear, or expect us to be mind readers!
I know that we can seem rather mysterious and hard to approach, but that's not true. We like dating as much as you, but there are just a few things that we do differently. This book is pretty good for guys who need a little help getting through that first part of a relationship and on to building something more. Heck, if you can't make it past the first date, the relationship is doomed, I'd say. Williams has compiled some good advice to help guys navigate the murky waters of dating a little better, and women should be grateful! If he can help the guys to improve their communication skills, they are much better candidates for a long term relationship that you both will enjoy!
I like the way the author addresses various dating scenarios and the nuances of the various communication skills needed in each one. No relationship or situation is a `one size fits all' so each guy's dating skills should be tailored to the time and place, and of course, person. I also liked the way the author kept the tone lighthearted but still managed to get his point across. He seems to understand that we ladies are a little more complicated than most men realize, but we are not all that hard to please if you know which things to try!
I felt the book could have benefitted from more of an actual woman's perspective, although I understand that it is aimed mostly at guys. It seems like good advice to me, and not really just for dating. If more men bothered to learn proper communication skills, relationships at the office and in marriages would definitely improve, and both men and women would benefit. As for improving dating skills, well, I would say that practice makes perfect, so go ahead and ask someone out already!

Reading this book opens a woman's eyes to many new methods and mechanisms for getting through times of tough love. Relevant, practical and emotionally appealing tips and advise from a woman who has clearly experienced heart ache, just like the rest of us. A great investment to your Kindle collection.

Feminists will not care for this so If you are one; that's fine just exclude you're self. Don't bother reading because it doesn't have to pertain to you. I am woman and yes, I read a mans book. Careful not to judge too quickly. I didn't read it to pick apart my husband; I love him dearly. I am on a mission too save my marriage because I have stopped liking my husband and yes I am looking into me as well. I read this too learn how to encourage him and, to help him grow into the man he has the potential too become. I'm not talking about being his mommie; I'm taking about communicating uplifting information too him as he has done so in the past for me. Yes we are in a tough spot. Probably for many reasons and yes I am apart of the many but; one for sure is that his parents didn't finish what they started. Maturity. A young man would benefit from reading this... All marriages have their troubles and relationships are definitely not easy but...If you can get your mind right and act right, and strive to be right you can get it right; more than you get it wrong. In a society where women want to wear the pants ( I'm sure some will dislike this comment and no I don't care so bother telling me) and most of the time do...It emasculates our men if we are ~allowed~ to do it in our relationships. So If your a woman reading this and doing that...Stop..I have made an effort too do so myself. For this case, it is truly up to men to man up and put us in our place. I don't mean with rule with an iron fist; I mean in a Chivalrous and confident manor. Don't be a bastard about it. No woman will respect a jerk. Women cant respect a push over either; or a man that is indecisive. It doesn't give us the ~ability~ to respect him; or our need for stability. Not only that; those issues cause trust issues that turn into intimacy issues. Fastest way to stop the sex in your relationship; hand over your testicles for a pair of ovaries. This book was written well. Morally there was nothing wrong with it and if you applied Biblical principles with it, you'd be right on. I wished it had been a little longer but; that's probably because I am a woman. I was deeply attracted to what I read.That's why I gave it a review.

This author is one of my favorites! I am a mental health professional and often give my clients his materials to read. He provides effective and practical techniques and has excellent insights into relationships and the way men think in particular. I have enjoyed his website, Relationship Headquarters and have also used his techniques effectively in my own relationships. His recommendations are insightful and effective and his books tell you what to do step by step. Great value girls!!

As a 33-year-old, newly-single woman nervous about being back in the dating scene after five years, this book was a refreshing take. Blunt, no-holds-barred for sure, but definitely from somebody you know has your best interests in mind. It's the advice you'd get from one of your best girlfriends (if she weren't your biggest competition) or your mother (if she were honest enough to be your best girlfriend).

He's also hysterically funny--which makes the medicine go down easier and puts a smile on your face...before you head out the door on that next big date.

My only criticism is that it should have been longer. Maybe he could have gone into a little more detail about the different types of guys. We know they're all the same, but they're not /exactly/ the same. Everybody should have a dating coach like Prentice Prefontaine.

A really quick read which goes through the dating basics, nothing which isn't covered in other books. I was expecting more which is my fault because I'm new to eBooks and I didn't pay much attention to the fact that it's only 11 pages in print! Not much you can cover in 11 pages. I don't think it's worth $4.99.
